Ministry News – Updated July 6, 2011

Someone posted a comment:  I haven’t been posting much lately.  I think that’ll change soon.  But a lot has been happening with JoAnn and me lately, and it’s been hard to find time to write.  Here’s what’s been going on.

Medical Update.  In February of 2010 I was given emergency surgery to remove a large brain tumor.  Since then, I have been in ongoing chemotherapy and a  few weeks of radiation treatment.  Follow-up MRIs indicated that I was doing well.  Then in November, an MRI showed that the cancer had returned.  I was sent to Thousand Oaks for Gamma Knife treatment.

Again, for several months my MRIs came back clean, indicating that the cancer was gone.  But suddenly a few weeks ago, when nobody expected it, a smudge on an MRI indicated that the cancer had returned.  It meant I had to return to Thousand Oaks for another Gamma Knife Treatment.

I don’t want to spend the next few years telling and retelling my medical history.  I plan to write the story ASAP, as soon as I do, I’ll post a link here.

Meanwhile, the doctors advise me not to travel, especially by air.  But the gifts and callings of God are without repentance, and I am still called to the nations.  That’s why I’m continuing to minister as much as I can on the internet.

My energy level is lower than it used to be.  Otherwise, I can still write, record music, make videos, and more.  But I can’t consistently work 12-15 hours a day, as I usually did two years ago.

JoAnn and I are grateful for friends all over the world who have prayed for us, to those who support our ministry, and to those who have helped us with our daily work.

We’ve moved.  It was one of God’s suddenlies.  I won’t try to tell the story here, but God has moved us from our little home in Avila Beach to a larger house in Nipomo CA.  It has taken months to move and to organize our things.  We are very grateful to the friends who have helped us move, clean, tidy, and more.  “We couldn’t have done it without you.”

We’ve finally finished JoAnn’s book, Mind Lost Mind Found.  It’s now available; you can order online via amazon.com or barnesandnoble.com.

For more about the book, visit its website at http://mindlostmindfound.com/.  There you can read chapters 1-3, visit our blog, or follow the links to order the book.

We still have a few finishing touches to add to the project, but the pressure is off for now.

Each of these three matters has been very time consuming.  But now at last, we’re starting to be able to pace ourselves.  I look forward to adding fresh material again.

  1. Hi Stan, Just discovered all you’ve been though and am absolutely amazed and blessed at your health in recovery, as well as your rock solid faith in God. Your videos, music, and life are all inspiring. I can see how the Lord is enlarging you out of the trial, just as in the Bible-they came out with more. Thanks so much for sharing and teaching. You have blessed us!!!

    • Thanks for your encouraging comment!

I had to tell my medical history to a dental assistant and mentioned prayer. As she left the room she commented, “You really have wonderful faith.” My answer: “faith is wonderful, but not half as wonderful as the God who answers prayer.”

      Resurrection blessings — Stan.

    +1

    • Thanks for your encouraging words. If my faith looks rock-solid, it’s only because I’ve found God Himself to be rock-solid. My faith therefore reflects not my faithfulness, but His. While I have my ups and downs, the God of grace is unfailingly loving, wise, and patient.

      Resurrection blessings — Stan
